Faerie

Species

Diminutive Faerie

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height is generally between 50 and 55 inches. There are two castes of Faeries – the Originals and the Progeny. The Originals have no idea how old they are and predate the 100,000-year-old Cooperative. The Progeny are their offspring. To the untrained eye, they appear to be young, barely adolescent children. Their diet is primarily fish and they have shark-like teeth. Their freckles are able to glow brightly. They are able to control electricity. And they defy gravity, able to fly and to control the gravitic attraction of items they touch. These features are useful when they hunt, attracting fish to the surface with their glow, shocking these fish to death, and carrying very heavy fish back to shore. Capable of Terran infiltration with a cover story of being a child.

Notes: Indigenous to Senin, Faeries are small humanoid creatures. Their home-world was the core of the Cooperative before a deviant Gatekeeper had a capacitive incident that rendered Senin into a ball of magma. Senin was kept molten by temporal eruptions that made the space around it dangerous to inhabit. Because of that, they parked their floating cities in a distant orbit and became vagrants in the Cooperative. During the War, they worked closely with Keratians in the front lines against the golems of the Sadari. Keratians were strong enough to overpower the golems, and Faeries were able to fry them with massive bolts of lightning. They are generally effervescent, even in the toughest of times, and mischievous.

Nistar

Species

Nistar, my Big Feet

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height is approximately similar to the average Terran. They are covered by woolly, light brown fur and look similar to the fictional depictions of Sasquatch. However, only a handful of people, Terran or otherwise, are able to actually detect their presence. They have a powerful, natural cloaking ability. The images drawn or faked are not from actual witnesses, but from people who are trying to rectify a subconscious awareness of them.

Notes: Big Feet is a term Steven Crow came up with, seeing as there were more than one of them and Big Foots just didn’t sound right to him. The Nistar have a communal consciousness. Not quite a single entity, but often acting that way. Several will speak on the same sentence and idea. They are the formerly extinct inhabitants of Rholling, a world blasted to sterility by the golems of the Sadari. Instead of extinction, they had been surreptitiously transported to Terra and have been camping out here as refugees while they wait to return to their own world. To bide their time, they explored society, often riding in passenger planes, trains, and automobiles, observing humanity and developments. They also can detect when a deviant Gatekeeper is being fed, which made it hard for the Sadari to experiment on deviant Gatekeepers.

Camdyn

Species

Camdyn, my Wolfman

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height is typically a bit over seven feet tall, but they tend to slouch a bit. They are massively built creatures and are considered an apex predator on their homeworld. Their skin is dark, as is their dense covering of short to medium-length fur. Their teeth are geared towards a carnivore diet, and their hands and feet are clawed. Part of their hunting tactic is to affect the dopamine levels on fleeing prey. This works less on prey that transition from fear to anger, however. If shaved, they pass for Terran provided they keep their mouths shut and claws out of sight, but they are on the very fringe of infiltration capable species and often just remain out of sight where possible.

Notes: Indigenous to Niqua. While they are capable of any number of tasks, I mostly focus on those within the Chaser Guild who function as Herders. They set up their prey for the final kill-shot from one of the Gatekeepers of the Chaser team or the Keratian. The Camdyn are obsessive over the maintenance of their firearms and are often put in charge of the armory as a whole. But, they are suckers for compliments and love to cook. While they seem gruff and rough around the edges, they are actually quite tender and thoughtful.

Human

Species

The Real Humans

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height and outward characteristics are generally comparable to their Terran counterparts. That is where similarities end, however. Their genetics is much more robust, contains more helixes, and they are able to survive the Awakening metamorphosis where those on Terra are not. They can see a bit beyond the visible light spectrum too. Overall strength and physical abilities are also more robust. Capable of Terran infiltration.

Notes: Indigenous to Legracia, humans appear similar to those of Terra. However, the occupants of Earth are not considered human, but are instead called Terrans. Humans and Terrans have a common ancestor hundreds of thousands of years ago, but the Cataclysm and resulting closing of the gates isolated them on their respective worlds, leading to divergent evolutionary paths.

Troll

Species

Trolls

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height is approximately 15 to 20 feet tall. They are thick and brawny. Their skin is covered by armor plates. Their heads are adorned by fierce-looking horns. They have no hair except for patches of bristles between their armored plates.

Notes: Indigenous to a world that no longer exists, Trolls are vagrants who live in massive spacecraft. Their primary industry is planetary rehabilitation. Their city-sized tool is called Planet Builder. This tool works to transform the biosphere of a planet as a whole. Some focus on atmospherics and position themselves at convection points for maximum circulation of their processing. Others focus on the terrestrial biozone, turning rock and lava into soil and planting in a succession of plants to make this soil live. Still others affect the oceans, lakes, and rivers, cleaning and building ecosystems in the waters. The Trolls are brilliant, passive for the most part, but a little grumpy at interruptions.
