Human

Species

The Real Humans

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height and outward characteristics are generally comparable to their Terran counterparts. That is where similarities end, however. Their genetics is much more robust, contains more helixes, and they are able to survive the Awakening metamorphosis where those on Terra are not. They can see a bit beyond the visible light spectrum too. Overall strength and physical abilities are also more robust. Capable of Terran infiltration.

Notes: Indigenous to Legracia, humans appear similar to those of Terra. However, the occupants of Earth are not considered human, but are instead called Terrans. Humans and Terrans have a common ancestor hundreds of thousands of years ago, but the Cataclysm and resulting closing of the gates isolated them on their respective worlds, leading to divergent evolutionary paths.

Troll

Species

Trolls

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height is approximately 15 to 20 feet tall. They are thick and brawny. Their skin is covered by armor plates. Their heads are adorned by fierce-looking horns. They have no hair except for patches of bristles between their armored plates.

Notes: Indigenous to a world that no longer exists, Trolls are vagrants who live in massive spacecraft. Their primary industry is planetary rehabilitation. Their city-sized tool is called Planet Builder. This tool works to transform the biosphere of a planet as a whole. Some focus on atmospherics and position themselves at convection points for maximum circulation of their processing. Others focus on the terrestrial biozone, turning rock and lava into soil and planting in a succession of plants to make this soil live. Still others affect the oceans, lakes, and rivers, cleaning and building ecosystems in the waters. The Trolls are brilliant, passive for the most part, but a little grumpy at interruptions.

Ordan

Species

The Ordan, my Dwarfs

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height is approximately that of Faeries, if a little shorter. About 50 to 55 inches or so. They are generally stocky, but not obese.

Notes: The Ordan are indigenous to a heavy world called Dherring. They head up the manufacturing arm of the Cooperative. They share the ability to defy gravity with Faeries, though they themselves cannot fly. They can affect the attraction of other objects to gravity instead. And they don’t have to touch those objects. Their abilities go down to atomic levels, which allows them to fuse objects with undetectable welds. Hence their affinity for manufacturing. Unlike most other Cooperative species, they spurn physical contact as much as possible and prefer more isolated living quarters, similar to Terran habits.

Keratian

Species

Keratian, My Vampire

Morphology: Humanoid. Their median height is approximately slightly taller than the average Terran. Their evolution, affected by high gravity, occasional radiation bursts from their red dwarf star, and an insidious predator of their food sources, has resulted in heightened abilities, such as speed, armor-like skin, and raw strength. Their blood-diet is based on a symbiotic relationship with their herd, which they protect from the apex predator of their world. Contrary to fearsome myths that were inspired by them, they find any other blood repugnant, and they are not thirst-crazed monsters. Their skin does not transmit heat, and their bodies do not produce excess heat. Their blood is titanium oxide-based, giving them a brilliantly white complexion. To help protect them, they are able to generate a second skin, which to Terrans appears like a robe that forms from a mist around them, and likewise returns to a mist when they withdraw the second skin. Their hair follicles are transparent, resulting in glistening, white hair. They are able to infiltrate Terran society with some modifications. Their skin needs blush painted on, they need to hide their canines, and they need tie up their long hair, perhaps even cover with a hat. A change in wardrobe goes without saying.

Notes: Indigenous to Toros. Keratians are the protectors of the Cooperative. They are often front-line security for first contact situations, able to resist what they call “bad decisions” of those they contact. And they are able to go toe-to-toe with the Cooperative’s primary adversary, the Sadari golems. While other species are as well, like the Trolls, the Keratians have a well-evolved protector instinct that makes them ideal as defenders. They are as brilliant as any other Cooperative species as well. And they are extremely long-lived, some living for over ten thousand years.
